Domain name registration: precautions tip

Did you know? A domain name with a .com or .ch extension can be cancelled by the authorities if a third party claims an infringement of its trademark. There is an obligation to make sure that the domain name does not infringe upon third parties’ rights. Trademark searches must be conducted prior to registration (UDRP Paragraph 2, WIPO Overview 3.0 Sections 3.2.2 and 3.2.3).

Registering a domain name to operate a website is easy. But beware of legal risks. SEDIN can assist you in assessing the risks, registering your domain name, preventing and taking action against fraudulent misuses.
