Yesterday, Chile acceded to the Madrid Protocol Relating to the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks. The Madrid System allows brand owners to seek trademark protection in 127 countries (including the new accession) by filing a single international trademark application. The Madrid Protocol will enter into force in Chile on July 4, 2022.
