Thailand and Brazil soon joining the Hague Agreement

Two days ago, the Thai Parliament approved the draft bill for Thailand to adhere the Hague Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Industrial Designs.
Brazil is on the road too. The draft decree was approved in early October by the Federal Senate.
The Hague Agreement establishes an international system that allows industrial designs to be protected in multiple countries or regions with minimal formalities ant at a lower cost.
From the accession, it will be possible for Thai and Brazilian companies and designers to file a single application before the World Intellectual Property Organization designating the countries covered by the Hague System – 94 to date. In parallel, companies and designers from countries covered by the Hague System will be able to designate Thailand and Brazil in international designs.
